Michael Liess, President & CEO
Michael Liess oversees all business aspects of DocuLynx, including strategic and financial planning, marketing and product development. He is responsible for setting direction, communicating vision and shaping a winning organizational culture at DocuLynx. Liess brings to his position more than 25 years' experience in the high-technology sector, predominantly at senior executive and general manager levels. He has an established reputation for driving performance, cultural change, profitability and growth. Prior to joining DocuLynx in April 2012, Liess served as Chief Executive Officer of TNA and GWS, COO for T/R Systems and Vice President of Direct Sales at Gateway Computer Company. He served as Senior Vice President at Encad, a specialized print company sold to Eastman Kodak and held executive positions at OCE-USA, a billion-dollar division of a multi-billion dollar European imaging technology, where he set up Mid-Atlantic and Western operations and dramatically grew revenue both organically and through acquisitions. He began his career with Xerox Corporation as an analyst. Within a short time, Liess was among Xerox's top five sales executives in the country. While working at Xerox, Liess earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Rochester and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
Dean Richards, SVP – Sales | Marketing | Bus. Development
Dean Richards is the sales and business development lead for DocuLynx. Through innovative and versatile solution expertise, he works to improve sales activity and provide a strategic plan to overall marketing efforts. Since June 2013, Dean has reorganized the company’s sales force into both capture/services and software sales teams, which has resulted in consistent year-over-year growth. Not only is Dean well versed in various aspects of organic and non-organic revenue generation, but he has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of sales with extensive success records in improving sales and new business growth opportunities. He previously served more than 15 years in sales and marketing with Xerox, as well as another 20 years spent in startup and turnaround companies.
Dean additionally brings extensive knowledge of both domestic and international sales, sales management, and general business development. While his list of expertise ranges from market analysis to customer relationship management, Dean has numerous skills for generating dramatic improvements to company profit and loss management—mainly on the revenue side. He is a high-performing member of the DocuLynx leadership team with strong exposure to the various problem and challenges of rapid growth structure and restructuring needs. Dean received his Bachelor’s Degree in Bus. Admin from Indiana State University and MBA from the University of Toledo.
David Blatherwick, Vice President - Development & Technology
David Blatherwick has responsibility for all facets of technology, including strategy, applications, infrastructure, support and execution. During the past 19 years, David has served in a number of executive IT positions, primarily focused on delivering innovate solutions to the market and leading high performing teams. Prior to joining DocuLynx, David served as the Executive Director of Software Products at TeleTech, a global provider of technology-enabled customer experience solutions. He also served as the Chief Technology Officer for Open Scan Technologies, a software application company that allows companies to automate inbound receivables. David received his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Colorado. He is a Denver resident and is based out of the DocuLynx Denver Technology Office.
Karl Schuster, Vice President - Finance & Administration
Karl Schuster is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting and human resources. Karl brings over 30 years of accounting and finance experience to DocuLynx, most of which were in executive roles. Prior to joining DocuLynx, Karl served as the Vice President and CFO of DataTrend Information Systems, an information technology consulting firm which was named to the "Inc. 500" List of Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies during Karl’s tenure. He was also the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting at Accuvant and spent many years in the Mortgage Banking and real estate industries. Karl received his Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, and Accounting degrees from West Virginia University. He lives in Greenwood Village and is based in DocuLynx’s Denver Technological Center Office.
Jim McDonald, Senior Vice President - Professional Services
Jim McDonald is responsible for the strategy and development of Key Account programs and vertical markets. Jim brings over 20 years of experience leading sales organizations, delivering service to customers and developing strategies that drive growth. Prior to joining DocuLynx, Jim served as the Vice President of Operations of Vonage, a global software technology company that enables high-quality voice and messaging services. He also recently sold his successful consulting company that focused on delivering solutions to the healthcare, energy and supply chain vertical markets. Jim received his Bachelor Degree in Information Systems from Rutgers University and his MBA from New York University.
